Gargoyles are leathery-winged beasts with demonic features such as a slightly protruding brow and elongated snout, a pair of horns, claws, and a tail. They have a thick, rocky hide, but they are not made of stone as some lore would suggest. Though this hide offers them good protection, they may not survive as long as others due to poor blood circulation. They have the ability to fly at great speeds, but use their wings more for slowly gliding from the treetops, high ledges, and peaks. This natural flight gives them an advantage with long-range weapons. Since the ever changing chaotic nature of Air appeals to their desire for conflict, many worship the Goddess Aerthane. They have been known to serve any element giving them reason to fight, as long as the battle is not of a political nature.
