Religions of Archai |
 |
In Shattered Isles, religion is based on elements and the Gods and Goddess who control them. Until recently there had only been four: Aerthane, Tetherias, Kaleith, and Pyrous. With the Great Shattering 4 centuries ago, two more sects have emerged with the help of Itzal and Astraeva, leaving New Archai Isle and its surrounding Islands to host six religions. Much tension has arisen from this new configuration, adding conflict and strain between island groups and regions.

Description |
Aerthane |
Aerthane, the Goddess of Air, represents all of those who value the freedom to make their own choices in life. Aerthane is often viewed as the most chaotic of all the religions. |
Astraeva |
Astraeva represents all of those whom serve as a shield to the people, and when called upon, put down that shield and raise their swords. Astraeva's sacrifice is reflected in many of her followers' compassion for others and willingness to forgive, though not forget. |
Itzal |
Itzalites have calculating and manipulative tendencies, having adapted those tactics to overcome centuries of backlash from many adversaries. Greed and deception play significant roles in their judgment. Itzalites rely heavily on their quick-witted survival tactics, camaraderie, deceit, politics, and the corruptions of said politics. |
Kaleith |
Kalesians are perhaps the most understanding and accepting of any of the religions. Despite their tendency for acceptance, unnatural destruction tends to get them riled up. It accelerates a cycle of life that they would prefer to just let happen on its own. It interferes with what they view as the natural order. |
Pyrous |
The followers of Pyrous believe in two things: destruction and rebirth. Both are achieved through fire, though not all his followers appreciate each result. They are about more than just fiery chaos. They are calculating, yet their biggest enemy is often their impulsiveness when an opportunity is spotted. |
Tetherias |
Tetherias is regarded by her followers as the world's balance. They aren't neutral by any means, but in times of peril, they believe Tetherias is the one responsible for restoring order. When times are good and the world gets neglected or taken for granted, it is Tetherias again in their eyes who brings the harsh reminder of nature's cruelty.
